Mumbai 29 June (HS): Devendra Fadnavis, the Chief Minister
of Maharashtra, is a well-known political figure serving his third term. He
openly mentions and celebrates Sant Kabir Das, a 15th-century spiritual poet
and social reformer known for his ageless couplets (dohas) advocating for
humanism and social justice. On Kabir Das Jayanti, the Chief Minister regularly
honors the saint, emphasizing how Kabir's simple poetry opposed caste
inequality and theological hypocrisy while promoting love and worldwide
brotherhood.
He remarked in a post on X, “Remembering a saint whose dohas
inspired social reform and conveyed the deeper meaning of life and devotion,
Sant Kabir Das, on his Birth Anniversary!”
