Amaravati, June 29 (HS): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Monday directed officials to simplify the delivery of government services and make them more accessible through technology-driven governance.
Chairing a review meeting at the Real Time Governance Society (RTGS) Centre in the State Secretariat, the Chief Minister stressed the need for citizen-friendly governance and faster grievance redressal.
Naidu instructed officials to introduce a simplified process for key government services, with the first phase covering 11 categories of public services. He also directed that the Public Grievance Redressal System be expanded by enabling citizens to register complaints through the Mana Mitra WhatsApp platform, including by sending voice messages.
The Chief Minister asked officials to resolve mobile network connectivity issues across the state within the next three months. Officials informed the meeting that nearly 3,000 locations currently face connectivity problems. Naidu directed them to coordinate with telecom service providers to address the issue on priority.
Officials also briefed the Chief Minister on the progress of the Navachetana Early Childhood Development Screening Programme being implemented by the Women and Child Welfare Department. They said 33,949 children have been screened through Anganwadi centres and household visits, and a pilot project for follow-up interventions is being planned.
During the review, officials informed the Chief Minister that senior officers have been directed to undertake regular field visits. Under the new guidelines, Secretaries will spend three days, Heads of Departments six days and District Collectors eight days every month in the field to identify public issues and ensure their timely resolution.
Naidu also reviewed improvements in the Public Grievance Redressal System and was briefed on the use of artificial intelligence and other digital technologies in governance.
Representatives of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), who visited the RTGS Centre, were shown the platform's role in governance and disaster management. The Chief Minister also urged CII to establish its Global Leadership Centre in Andhra Pradesh at the earliest.
