New Delhi, 25 June (H.S.):

Rajya Sabha Chairman C. P. Radhakrishnan on Thursday administered the oath of office and secrecy to ten newly elected and re-elected members of the Upper House.

The members who took the oath were Praveen Chakravarty, Debashish Samantaray, Sana Satish Babu, Vijay Chinthakayala, Bhashyam Ramakrishna, Lingamaneni Ramesh, Rajesh Parmanand Shukla, Baidyanath Ram, Parimal Nathwani and Tai Tagak.

Among them, five members took the oath in Hindi, one in English, one in Tamil, and three in Telugu.

Of the members sworn in, four represent Andhra Pradesh, two represent Jharkhand, while one member each is from Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Arunachal Pradesh, and Odisha.

The ceremony was attended by Union Minister of State for Law and Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal, Rajya Sabha Secretary-General P. C. Mody, members of the House, distinguished guests, and senior officials of the Rajya Sabha Secretariat.
