Lucknow, 22 June (HS): Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has

shot off a letter to the people of the state, in which he mentions the rainy

season and the potential risk of lightning strikes, hailstorms, and rising

water levels. He also stated that the government has made extensive

preparations to address these challenges, but he urged everyone to remain

vigilant and alert. The Chief Minister has made five appeals to the people of

the state.

Yogi wrote, My respected citizens of the state, every

change in nature brings a message of life. The rainy season marks the arrival

of new creation, development, and prosperity. Uttar Pradesh is an agricultural

state. The labour of our food providers is the biggest basis for the food

security of the state and the country. The fragrance of the first shower of

rain will create new energy in the lives of our food providers. The holy period

of Chaturmas also begins with the rainy season. This period gives us the message

of co-existence with nature, patience, sensitivity, and a balanced life.

The CM further wrote, Mata Bhoomi: Putroham

Prithviyaah, meaning, This land is our mother, and we are its

sons. Therefore, this is the time to welcome nature and fulfill our

duties to Mother Earth. I would like to make five requests to all the people of

the state:

First: Under the campaign 'One Tree in the Name of Mother',

every family must plant at least one tree and take a pledge to protect it.

Second: If there is water, there is tomorrow, with this

sentiment, through public participation, make conservation and cleanliness of

ponds, lakes, Amrit Sarovar, wells and traditional water sources as well as

rain water harvesting in homes, schools, Gram Panchayat and institutions a

public campaign.

Third: Express gratitude to nature and promote organic

farming. This will ensure the health of our families, society, and state, and

will strengthen a prosperous and sustainable agricultural system.

Fourth- Be health conscious and maintain cleanliness during

the rainy season and take precautions to prevent waterborne and infectious

diseases.

Fifth: Avoid waterlogging and garbage accumulation. Ensure

that drains are not clogged with plastic.

Lightning strikes are also common during the rainy season,

so avoid leaving your home unnecessarily or standing under trees. Heavy

rainfall can sometimes cause water levels in rivers and reservoirs to rise

rapidly. Therefore, exercise special caution when bathing in rivers and

reservoirs during this time. The government has made extensive preparations to

address these challenges, but you should remain vigilant and alert. Only your

cooperation will make our efforts meaningful.

UP CM remarked in a post on X, “My esteemed fellow citizens

of the state, The rainy season heralds the arrival of renewal, nurturing, and

prosperity. This sacred period of Chaturmas, accompanying the rains, imparts to

us the message of co-existence with nature, restraint, sensitivity, and a

balanced life. During the rains, incidents of lightning strikes from the sky

also occur; therefore, refrain from venturing unnecessarily outside the home at

such times and avoid standing under trees. Often, due to excessive rainfall,

the water levels in rivers and reservoirs rise rapidly. Hence, exercise special

caution while bathing in rivers and reservoirs during this period. The

government has made extensive preparations to address all these challenges;

nevertheless, I urge each of you to remain vigilant and alert. It is your

cooperation that will truly make our efforts meaningful.”
