

Ludhiana, 22 June (H.S.): Bharatiya Janata Party national president Nitin Nabin held an important meeting with prominent industrialists and businessmen in Ludhiana late Sunday evening. During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on boosting industry in Punjab, bringing new investment, generating employment and addressing the problems being faced by industrialists.
Punjab BJP president Kewal Singh Dhillon and BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh were also specially present on the occasion. Senior party leaders, along with several leading industrialists and businessmen from Ludhiana, took part in the meeting.
During the interaction, industrialists shared the challenges being faced by industries in Punjab with the BJP leadership. They demanded better infrastructure, a safe industrial environment, simple business-friendly policies, reliable power supply, tax reforms, skilled manpower and a favourable atmosphere for investment.
Nitin Nabin said that the BJP would bring a special plan to provide a better and safer environment for industries in Punjab. He said Punjab was once counted among the strongest industrial states in the country, but today industrialists are facing several problems. The BJP will listen to these issues seriously and prepare a concrete policy for their solution, he added.
BJP leaders claimed that if the party comes to power, Punjab’s industry will get a new momentum and fresh employment opportunities will be created for the youth. They said Punjab’s economic progress is not possible without strengthening industries, and therefore industry, trade, investment and employment will remain among BJP’s top priorities.
Punjab BJP president Kewal Singh Dhillon said that the BJP would bring back the kind of good governance, brotherhood, peace and prosperity in Punjab that existed during Maharaja Ranjit Singh’s rule. He said the government, industry and all sections of society would have to work together to make Punjab industrially strong once again.
The meeting also stressed that Punjab’s industrialists have an important role to play in achieving the goal of a developed India. BJP leaders assured that the party would raise the issues of Punjab’s industrialists on priority and work to promote investment and employment in the state.
