Mumbai, 22 June (HS): Shiv Sena (UBT) MLA Aaditya Thackeray
unleashed a stinging assault on renegade party MPs on Monday, accusing them of
putting personal gain ahead of political duties. In an X post, Thackeray said
that these politicians, who were elected with the support of the Congress and
the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), had abandoned the ideology for which they were
elected. Referring to the ongoing political turmoil in Shiv Sena (UBT)
following the alleged defection of several MPs to the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv
Sena under what has been dubbed Operation Tiger, Thackeray stated
that the actions of rebel MPs demonstrate that their loyalty and reputation are
for sale, and that the government uses public funds for political gain.
To the greedy MPs who have jumped over, you merely prove the
following, stronger than ever: Your allegiance and reputation are for sale,
shamelessly. The government is biased and uses public funds for political
purposes, he stated. He added that voters in these MPs' areas had deliberately
voted against the NDA candidates and the principles they represent, which the
parliamentarians had now abandoned for profit. All of the people who are
hopping over presently were elected on the platforms of the MVA and INDIA,
which oppose the NDA. All of them had leaders from @ShivSenaUBT, @INCIndia, and
@NCPSP advocating for them, and each requested rallies from leaders of all
parties and allies.
They can't even continue on their ridiculous diatribe about
moving away from this, allying with that, and doing this and that. Voters in
your constituencies voted against NDA candidates and in favor of INDIA and
everything it stands for. Just understand that your greed drove you to dump
everything overnight, shamelessly, he added.
