Sadiya (Assam), 19 June (HS): Co-District Commissioner (CDC) of Sadiya reviewed road safety preparedness during a meeting with stakeholders and directed departments to urgently install signboards, reflectors and other safety infrastructure at accident-prone locations ahead of the monsoon season.

The CDC instructed authorities to remove roadside obstructions, improve road markings, repair damaged stretches and strengthen monitoring of vulnerable spots. Strict action was ordered against over-speeding, drunken driving and underage driving, with special focus on school zones through regular vehicle checks and awareness programmes.

The Police, Transport and other departments were also directed to intensify enforcement drives, conduct joint inspections and ensure better traffic management to reduce accidents and enhance commuter safety across the co-district.------------
