
Guwahati, 18 June (HS): Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday said that the sacred Nilachal Hills, home to the revered Maa Kamakhya, is preparing to create history with the arrival of a massive gathering of devotees from across India and abroad during the upcoming Ambubachi Mela.
In a social media post, the Chief Minister stated that enhanced infrastructure and world-class facilities have been put in place to welcome pilgrims visiting the shrine. He noted that the event is expected to witness the participation of more than eight lakh devotees this year.
Sarma said the anticipated turnout would further strengthen Assam’s spiritual identity and cultural heritage, giving a new dimension to the state's long-standing religious traditions.
On behalf of the people of Assam, the Chief Minister extended a warm welcome to all devotees of Goddess Kamakhya and invited them to be part of the sacred spiritual congregation at Nilachal.-------------
