
Kathmandu/Beijing, 16 June (HS): Nepal and China reviewed bilateral cooperation projects and discussed ways to strengthen collaboration in key sectors during talks between Nepal Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal and his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi in Beijing on Monday.
According to Nepal's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two sides held detailed discussions on infrastructure development, connectivity, border management, energy, trade, investment, agriculture, technology transfer, information technology, tourism and people-to-people exchanges.
The Chinese side assured Nepal of continued support for projects agreed upon earlier and reaffirmed its commitment to assisting Nepal's development priorities, the ministry said.
The discussions also covered cooperation in areas such as fertilisers, petroleum and natural gas exploration.
During the talks, Nepal reiterated that its territory would not be allowed to be used for activities directed against China. In response, China reaffirmed its support for Nepal's sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence.
The meeting was held as part of Khanal's ongoing visit to China.
