Bhubaneswar, 15 June (H.S.): All government and private schools across Odisha will reopen on June 18 following the summer vacation, School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond announced on Monday.

The minister said the decision was taken in view of the onset of the monsoon and the prevailing drop in temperatures across the state, creating favourable conditions for the resumption of academic activities.

While confirming the reopening schedule, Gond stated that the government is closely monitoring weather conditions in different parts of Odisha. He assured that if hot and humid weather returns due to changing climatic conditions, appropriate measures will be taken in consultation with the concerned authorities to safeguard students' health and well-being.

The minister also informed that efforts are being made to ensure the timely distribution of textbooks and other educational materials to students before classes resume.

With schools set to reopen on June 18, the state government is focusing on the smooth conduct of academic activities and ensuring that students have access to all necessary learning resources without delay.
