Jammu, 15 June (H.S.): National Conference Additional General Secretary and former Minister Ajay Kumar Sadhotra today accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of spreading misinformation regarding the stability of the Omar Abdullah-led Government and failing to function as a constructive opposition in Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing a public meeting at Muthi Ward No. 67 in the Jammu North Assembly Constituency, Sadhotra said the BJP was unable to accept the decisive mandate given by the people to the National Conference under the leadership of Dr Farooq Abdullah and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. He asserted that the elected Government enjoys the confidence of the people and will complete its full term.
Sadhotra said repeated statements by BJP leaders questioning the stability of the Government reflected political insecurity and a disconnect from public sentiment. He maintained that the National Conference remains a strong grassroots-based political force committed to serving the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Highlighting the party's legacy, Sadhotra said the National Conference has consistently worked for strengthening democratic institutions and safeguarding the interests of all regions and communities. In contrast, he alleged that the BJP has relied on divisive politics and attempts to polarise society for political gains.
