
Khatima, June 14 (HS): Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Sunday said that the objective of various welfare schemes of the Central and State governments is to ensure that the benefits of development reach the last person in society, and the government is working with full commitment towards this goal.
Addressing the ‘Jan-Jan Ki Sarkar, Mukhya Sevak Aapke Dwar’ programme at Shaheed Hari Kishan Shikshan Sansthan in Bagulia during his second day of visit to Khatima, the Chief Minister said that India has entered a new era of development, good governance and public welfare under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
During the programme, Dhami inspected stalls set up by various government departments and inaugurated a Didi Café being operated under the Gramotthan Project.
The Chief Minister highlighted several flagship schemes, including Ayushman Bharat, PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi, Ujjwala Yojana, free ration distribution and the Jal Jeevan Mission, stating that these initiatives have positively impacted millions of lives across the country.
He said the double-engine government has strengthened transparency and curbed corruption through the use of technology and improved governance mechanisms.
Referring to developments in Uttarakhand, Dhami said the state has witnessed rapid progress in education, healthcare, roads, drinking water supply, tourism and air connectivity. He described the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) and the anti-copying law as significant achievements of the state government and said transparency has been ensured in recruitment processes to protect the interests of youth.
Reiterating the government's zero-tolerance policy towards corruption, the Chief Minister said efforts are being made to accelerate development across all sectors.
Calling Khatima his family, Dhami said no compromise would be made in the region's development and appealed to people to contribute towards making Uttarakhand one of the leading states in the country.
On the occasion, assistance was distributed to beneficiaries under various government schemes. Eligible beneficiaries received grants, equipment and loan assistance through the Fisheries, Agriculture, Social Welfare, Health and Cooperation departments.
Earlier, District Panchayat Chairman Ajay Maurya welcomed the Chief Minister and said the state government has been working with commitment and sensitivity to address public concerns and accelerate development works across the region.
