
Bhubaneswar, 13 June (H.S.): In a significant development, two senior IPS officers of the Odisha cadre have been empanelled by the Central Government for appointment to the prestigious Director General (DG) and DG-equivalent ranks in various central security and intelligence organizations.
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) approved the empanelment of 33 senior IPS officers from across the country, including two officers from the Odisha cadre. The empanelment paves the way for their appointment to top leadership positions within the Central Government's security and law enforcement framework.
Among those empanelled is Dr. Sudhanshu Sarangi, a 1990-batch IPS officer, who is currently serving as the Director General of Odisha Fire and Emergency Services. During his distinguished career, Dr. Sarangi has held several key positions, including Police Commissioner of Bhubaneswar-Cuttack and Chairman of the Odisha Police Housing Corporation. He is widely recognized for his administrative acumen and contributions to policing reforms in the state.
The second officer is Padmakar S. Ranpise, a 1995-batch IPS officer of the Odisha cadre. Presently on central deputation, Ranpise is serving as Additional Director General (ADG) of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). He has extensive experience in law enforcement and internal security management at both state and national levels.
