
Jammu, 13 June (H.S.): Cyber Police Station (PS) Samba has refunded/ liened defrauded amount of Rs eleven lakh five hundred fifty-four (Rs 11,00,554.00) in different cyber complaints lodged by the citizens on National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal during the month of May, 2026.
Officials said the reported cases primarily involved various forms of online scams and fraudulent activities carried out by cyber criminals.
Acting over the cyber complaints, the team of Cyber PS Samba displayed relentless efforts and advanced technical skills, leading to the successful refunding of Rs.2,84,980.00 to victims and liening the defrauded amount of Rs.8,15,574.00 in different cyber complaints. Further investigation into these complaints is ongoing, officials said.
Samba police has appealed to the general public to remain vigilant against cyber threats and strongly advised to its citizens not to share personal or financial credentials with anyone, either online or offline and avoid clicking on suspicious or unknown links. For assistance or to report cyber fraud, citizens can contact the National Cybercrime Helpline at 1930 or lodge complaints online at www.cybercrime.gov.in. Additionally, cases related to lost or stolen mobile phones can be reported at www.ceir.gov.in, officials said.
