Bhubaneswar, 11 June (H.S.): Following his unopposed election to the Rajya Sabha, Debashish Samantaray conveyed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP National President Nitin Nabin , and Odisha BJP State President Manmohan Samal for their support.

Addressing the media after his election, Samantaray pledged dedicated service to the people of Odisha and committed to strengthening the party organization. He stated, I will work with sincerity, honoring the BJP's welcome, and will fulfill whatever responsibilities the party assigns. He further added that, as a member of the ruling party, he aims to contribute significantly to Odisha's development.

He also thanked senior party leadership and reiterated his commitment to organizational work, emphasizing his focus on strengthening the party structure as directed.

In a political observation, Samantaray remarked on a situation he believes is emerging within the Biju Janata Dal (BJD), similar to that of the Trinamool Congress (TMC). He asserted that his open remarks reflect sentiments shared by several leaders within the BJD.
