resources: Minister Sandeep Singh
Lucknow,
01 June (HS): Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Uttar
Pradesh government is continuously taking effective steps towards making the
education system more transparent, accountable and result-oriented. In this
sequence, it has been decided to conduct district-wise verification of details
related to the supply and payment of books purchased for the libraries of
selected council schools in the financial year 2025-26 under the Samagra
Shiksha and PM Shri Yojana. In this regard, detailed guidelines have been
issued to all the districts of the state and instructions have been given to
provide certified details on the prescribed format.
State
Minister of State for Basic Education (Independent Charge), Sandeep Singh,
stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath,
transparency, quality, and accountability are being given top priority in the
education department. He added that school libraries are an important medium
for students' intellectual development and strengthening the culture of
learning. Therefore, it is essential to ensure that books approved and
purchased for schools reach schools in a timely manner, and that all payment
records are completely transparent and verifiable. He added that verifying book
supply and payment details is not merely an administrative process, but an
important effort to ensure the effective use of educational resources. This
will clarify the actual implementation status of schemes and strengthen the
monitoring system in the future.
The
state government is placing special emphasis on strengthening school libraries
and learning resources. To foster students' interest in learning, expand their
knowledge, and create a quality educational environment, schools are ensuring
the availability of a variety of useful books. In this regard, records related
to book supply and payments will be reviewed to assess the actual situation,
ensuring that resources are being used in accordance with their intended
purpose.
According
to the issued instructions, District Basic Education Officers will be required
to match the details provided by selected publishers and suppliers with the
records available at the district level. After verification, the certified
details will be provided to the government. Based on the information received,
a government-level review will be conducted, which will provide a clear
assessment of the actual state of book supply and payment arrangements and lay
a solid foundation for better management and effective use of resources in the
future.
