01 June (HS): The National Executive Council (NEC) Meeting of the Akhil
Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) was successfully held from May 29 to 31 in
Bhubaneswar, the sacred land of Mahaprabhu Jagannath. More than 400
representatives and student activists from all regions of the country,
including Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Punjab,
Delhi, the North-East, Tamil Nadu, and other states, participated in this
significant national gathering.
During
the meeting, four resolutions were unanimously adopted:

No. 03: Curbing the Exploitation and Religious Conversion of Women by Organised

No. 04: Collective National Resolve of Restraint and Vigilance in Times of
Global Uncertainty is the Need of the Hour
The
meeting witnessed extensive deliberations on the national affairs, the
education system, the role of youth, national security, socio-economic issues,
and contemporary challenges. It also reviewed the decisions taken in the Akhil
Bharatiya Vichar Baithak and Sangathan Vichar Baithak, assessed ongoing
campaigns, programmes, and organisational activities, and formulated a
comprehensive roadmap for the coming year.
To
mark the historic 60th anniversary of the National Integration Tour under the Student Experience in Inter-state
Living (SEIL), dedicated 'SEIL@60' programs will be organized across India.
Furthermore, ABVP will launch year-long nationwide campaigns focusing on
various milestones, including ‘Screen Time to Activity Time’, ‘150 Years of Vande
Mataram’, 50 years of the anti-Emergency movement, the 350th martyrdom year of
Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur, and the 650th birth anniversary celebration of Sant
Ravidas Ji.
Prior
to the NEC Meeting, the Central Working Committee (CWC) Meeting held on May 27 adopted
a resolution titled Appreciation
for the People of West Bengal for Restoring Democratic Values.”
The
NEC also discussed the recent decision of the Central Board of Secondary
Education (CBSE) regarding the implementation of the Three-Language Policy and
appreciated the initiative. ABVP emphasized the need for its effective
implementation and reiterated its demand for conducting examinations in
regional languages. The organisation described the policy as an important step
towards strengthening Indian languages, fostering national integration, and
achieving the objectives of the National Education Policy. The policy is
expected to equip students with multilingual proficiency while preserving and
promoting India’s rich linguistic diversity.
Further,
ABVP called upon Indian industry to significantly increase investment in
Research and Development (R&D) to accelerate the realization of the vision
of a Viksit Bharat (Developed India).
On
the eve of the NEC meeting, a grand Civic Felicitation Ceremony (Naagarik
Abhinandan Samaroh) was organized, attended by ABVP alumni, entrepreneurs, and
prominent citizens of Bhubaneswar. The Chief Guest for the occasion, Honorable
Chief Minister of Odisha, Shri Mohan Charan Majhi, remarked that the event
revived fond memories of his own struggles during his student life. In his
address, he lauded ABVP as an organization that builds high-character citizens
and fosters patriotic youth leadership.
A
grand exhibition titled “Maharaja Kharavela Exhibition” was also organised at
the venue auditorium, showcasing Odisha’s glorious history, folk traditions,
and the year-round activities undertaken by ABVP. The exhibition was
inaugurated by Shri Krishna Chandra Mahapatra, Hon’ble Minister for Housing and
Urban Development, Government of Odisha.

National General Secretary Dr. Virendra Singh Solanki stated:, “The resolutions
adopted during the National Executive Council Meeting are not merely responses to
contemporary challenges; they also reflect ABVP’s broader national vision and
long-term commitment towards building a developed, secure, prosperous, and
self-reliant India. Through these resolutions, we have collectively reaffirmed
our commitment to making education more effective, student-centric, and
employment-oriented; addressing emerging challenges such as Urban Maoism that
threaten national security; curbing organised crimes, exploitation, and
conversion conspiracies targeting women; and fostering vigilant and responsible
citizenship in an era of global uncertainty where national interest must remain
paramount. At a time when India is emerging as a major global power, strong
synergy between the energy of youth, the intellectual capacity of educational
institutions, and the resources of industrial sector has become indispensable.
Increased investment in Research and Development is the need of the hour if
India is to emerge as a global leader in innovation, research, and the
knowledge-based economy. Through this meeting, ABVP has called upon Indian
industry to establish long-term partnerships with youth, universities, and
research institutions, thereby strengthening a culture of innovation-driven
development.ABVP will continue to work extensively in the coming year to
strengthen national integration, promote Indian languages, awaken cultural
consciousness, and enhance the positive participation of youth in various
spheres of social life. We firmly believe that the youth of India, through
their talent, innovative spirit, social responsibility, and national
commitment, will play a decisive role in taking the nation to new heights. This
National Executive Council Meeting will serve as an important milestone in that
direction.
