Bhubaneswar, 09 May (H.S.): The inventory process of the Ratna Bhandar (treasure chamber) of the Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri is set to resume from May 11, the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) announced on Saturday.

SJTA Chief Administrator Arabinda Kumar Padhee said the counting of precious ornaments and jewels stored in the inner chamber was temporarily halted due to the ongoing Chandan Jatra rituals of the deities. He confirmed that the exercise will restart from Monday in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).

“The inventory process will recommence from May 11 as per the SOP,” Padhee stated.

According to the SJTA, the inventory work had been conducted for approximately 57 hours and 8 minutes during the earlier phase spanning nine days. During this period, more than 120 ornaments stored in the inner chamber were counted, completing nearly 20 per cent of the total assessment. Officials noted that the inventory inside the inner chamber could be carried out only for four days within the designated nine-day schedule due to ritual-related constraints.
