New Delhi, 05 May (H.S.): Luxury vehicle manufacturer Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) India has announced a massive price cut of up to ₹75 lakh on its premium cars. The company has taken this step before the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between India and the United Kingdom comes into effect. The new prices have come into effect immediately.

The company announced on Tuesday in a statement that this price reduction will apply to Completely Built Unit (CBU) models imported from the United Kingdom. After this reduction, the ex-showroom price of Range Rover SV has been reduced from ₹4.25 crore to ₹3.5 crore, while the starting price of Range Rover Sport SV has fallen from ₹2.75 crore to ₹2.35 crore.

According to JLR, the new prices have come into effect immediately, reflecting the company's confidence in the successful implementation of the agreement. This is the largest price reduction ever made in the prices of Land Rover's high-end SUV Range Rover SV. JLR India said in a statement that the primary beneficiaries of the price cut on vehicles coming to India as completely built units will be the Range Rover SV and Range Rover Sport SV models.

Commenting on luxury vehicle manufacturer Jaguar Land Rover's move, Managing Director of the company Rajan Amba said that the company is already delivering the expected benefits of the trade agreement to its customers. He said that the revised pricing strengthens JLR India's customer-centric approach and aims to make the premium SV range more accessible to buyers.

The price cuts are part of JLR's strategy ahead of the expected India-UK FTA implementation, which is anticipated to significantly reduce import duties on cars from the UK. The Range Rover SV represents the most substantial benefit, with a price reduction of approximately ₹75 lakh making it more affordable in the Indian luxury market.
