New Delhi, 05 May (H.S.): Punjab National Bank (PNB) has announced results for the fourth quarter (January-March) of financial year 2025-26. In the fourth quarter ended March 31, PNB's profit increased 14.4% year-on-year to ₹5,225 crore. In the fourth quarter of the previous financial year 2024-25, the bank's profit had been ₹4,567 crore.

PNB informed the stock market on Tuesday that total income during the January-March quarter decreased to ₹36,319 crore, which was ₹36,705 crore in the same period of the previous financial year. During this period, the bank's interest income increased from ₹31,989 crore to ₹32,157 crore.

The bank reported that on the asset quality front, PNB's gross non-performing assets (NPAs) remained at 2.95% of gross advances, which was 3.95% at the end of March 2025. The bank's net NPA also decreased from 0.4% to 0.29% .

Additionally, the bank's board of directors has also recommended a dividend of ₹3 per share for financial year 2025-26, subject to shareholders' approval at the bank's upcoming Annual General Meeting.

The bank's performance was driven by improved asset quality, higher operating profit, and steady business expansion. PNB recorded its highest-ever annual net profit of ₹16,904 crore for FY26, marking a 1.6% year-on-year growth. Gross NPA ratio declined to 3.19% as on March 31, 2026 from 4.09% as on March 31, 2025.
