In IPL 2026, Gujarat Titans delivered a stellar performance to clinch a thrilling 4-wicket victory over table-toppers Punjab Kings, marking their third consecutive win. Despite this defeat, Punjab Kings will retain the top spot on the points table.

In the match played at Narendra Modi Stadium, Gujarat won the toss and elected to bowl first. Punjab Kings managed only 163 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs. In response, Gujarat chased down the 164-run target in 19.5 overs, losing 6 wickets. Washington Sundar emerged as the hero of the win, smashing a six in the final moments to seal the match.

Gujarat's run chase got off to a shaky start as captain Shubman Gill fell early.

Sai Sudharsan then steadied the innings, forging a crucial partnership with Jos Buttler to provide stability. Sudharsan smashed a brilliant half-century, positioning the team strongly. After his dismissal, Rahul Tewatia and Washington Sundar played composed knocks to ensure victory.

Earlier, Punjab Kings endured a disastrous start, slumping to 47/5. Suryansh Shedge fought back under pressure with a superb 57 off 29 balls. He combined with Marcus Stoinis to lift the team to a respectable total. Stoinis contributed 40 runs.

Jason Holder led Gujarat's bowling attack with 4 wickets, never allowing Punjab's batsmen to settle. Mohammad Siraj and Kagiso Rabada claimed 2 wickets each, playing key roles in the triumph.

With this win, Gujarat Titans have strengthened their playoff prospects, while Punjab Kings must rethink their strategy after back-to-back losses.
