

New Delhi, May 29 (H.S.): Karnataka’s caretaker Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Friday separately met Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge in New Delhi.
Siddaramaiah wrote on social media platform X, “I met Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge in Delhi today and held discussions with them. Karnataka Energy Minister K. J. George, Karnataka Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister Priyank Kharge, and Dr. Yathindra Siddaramaiah were also present on the occasion.”
Kharge also shared a message on social media, stating, “Siddaramaiah has always reflected dignity, compassion, and a deep commitment to social justice in public life. From humble beginnings to serving twice as the Chief Minister of Karnataka, he has remained steadfast in his commitment to equality, harmony, and the welfare of the underprivileged. Karnataka and the Congress party are grateful for his contribution to public life. We wish him good health and extend our best wishes for his continued service to the people.”
Notably, Siddaramaiah resigned as the Chief Minister of Karnataka on Thursday. Karnataka Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot formally accepted his resignation on Friday. The Governor has asked Siddaramaiah to continue as caretaker Chief Minister until alternative arrangements are made in the state.
