‘Operation Sindoor’ Was Different From Every Previous War Fought Against Pakistan: Rajnath Singh
New Delhi, May 29 (H.S.): Rajnath Singh on Friday launched a book on ‘Operation Sindoor’, documenting the personal experiences of soldiers who participated in the mission. The book describes Operation Sindoor as an unprecedented success in which India compelled Pakistan to agree to a ceasefire within just four days.
Going beyond a conventional historical account, the publication captures the personal stories and experiences of brave soldiers. It also offers a glimpse into the human dimension of modern warfare, where leadership, courage, decision-making under pressure, and unwavering commitment transform military strategy into success.
Releasing the book, Rajnath Singh said the publication reflects the human side of modern warfare that ultimately converts strategy into victory. He described the book as a tribute to those who made sacrifices during the operation and also as a medium through which people can connect with the dedication and indomitable courage of the armed forces.
The book on ‘Operation Sindoor’ compiles the personal accounts of 100 officers, sailors, airmen, and soldiers who took part in the operation. Rajnath Singh termed the mission an extraordinary success, stating that India forced Pakistan into a ceasefire within four days. He further remarked that the operation was unlike any previous war fought against Pakistan.
He noted that the book deliberately departs from the traditions of official military historiography and instead seeks to bring forward the authentic experiences of soldiers on the ground.
The publication includes experiences from all three branches of the armed forces, as well as personnel from headquarters and the Integrated Defence Staff. It features accounts from fighter pilots, naval watchkeepers, surface-to-air missile crews, Special Forces operators, signal personnel, logisticians, medical officers, and members of integrated and joint organisations that coordinated the entire operation.
The book has been compiled under the guidance of General Anil Chauhan, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS). The launch ceremony was attended by General Anil Chauhan, Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, General Upendra Dwivedi, and Air Chief Marshal A. P. Singh.
