
New Delhi, May 29 (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday shared a Sanskrit subhashita emphasizing the importance of humility, forgiveness, and virtuous conduct. He said these qualities are the true ornaments of an individual and that the people of the country are continuously working toward realizing the vision of a developed India guided by these very values.
In a post on social media platform X, the Prime Minister wrote, “Humility, forgiveness, and noble conduct are the true ornaments of one’s personality. Guided by these virtues, the people of the country are tirelessly striving to fulfill the resolve of a developed India.”
The Prime Minister also shared the Sanskrit verse:
“तेजः क्षमा धृतिः शौचमद्रोहो नातिमानिता।
भवन्ति सम्पदं दैवीमभिजातस्य भारत।।
Explaining the meaning of the verse, the Prime Minister said that it highlights qualities such as brilliance, forgiveness, unwavering patience, purity of conduct, dedication to the nation, and a humble personality free from arrogance. According to him, these virtues are considered the defining characteristics of a person endowed with divine qualities.
