New Delhi, May 29 (H.S.): Under the leadership of Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, the Delhi government has taken an important decision to facilitate candidates appearing for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET). The Chief Minister announced that all NEET aspirants will be allowed to travel free of cost on Delhi Transport Corporation buses on June 21, the day of the examination, to help them reach their respective examination centres conveniently.
To avail of this facility, candidates will only be required to show their valid NEET admit card to the bus conductor.
In a statement issued on Friday, Rekha Gupta said that following the recent cancellation of the NEET examination, many students are now required to reappear for the test. In such circumstances, it is natural for candidates and their families to face additional mental, financial, and logistical pressure.
She stated that the Delhi government understands these challenges and stands firmly with the students. The government’s objective is to ensure that candidates do not face any transportation-related inconvenience on the examination day. Keeping this in view, free travel in DTC buses will be provided to all NEET aspirants on June 21 so that they can reach their examination centres on time without additional stress and appear for the examination with complete focus and confidence.
The Chief Minister further said that the time, hard work, and future of the youth are of utmost importance. She emphasized that the Delhi government remains committed to ensuring that students receive every possible support and facility during their educational journey and competitive examinations.
She added that examinations like NEET are closely linked to the future and aspirations of students, and it is therefore the responsibility of the government to provide maximum support and convenience on the examination day so that candidates do not face unnecessary difficulties or anxiety.
Extending her best wishes to all NEET aspirants, Rekha Gupta said that the examination represents an opportunity to give new direction to their hard work, dedication, and dreams. She urged students to appear for the examination with confidence and wished them a bright and successful future.
