New Delhi, May 28 (H.S.): The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) has launched a special inspection drive in Ghaziabad to curb rising pollution levels in the Delhi-NCR region. Under the campaign, the Commission has directed strict enforcement of dust-control norms and ordered stringent action against those found negligent. Ten flying squads have been deployed for the exercise.
According to the CAQM, a special strategy has been formulated to improve air quality and ensure compliance with pollution-control regulations. As part of this initiative, 10 special flying squads have been deployed to inspect various major roads and areas falling under the jurisdiction of the Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation.
The Commission stated, “Any lapse in implementing the prescribed dust-mitigation measures or negligence on the part of the concerned authorities will be viewed very seriously.” It further said that inspection drives under “Operation Clean Air” will continue across Delhi-NCR as part of ongoing efforts to identify air-pollution hotspots and reduce local sources of pollution.
