
New Delhi, May 25 (H.S.): Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari on Monday conducted a comprehensive review of the quality and maintenance status of 10,064 kilometres of National Highways in Rajasthan. The review was carried out on the basis of information received through media and social media platforms.
According to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, the review meeting was attended by Union Ministers of State Ajay Tamta and Harsh Malhotra, along with senior officials of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, and contractors associated with the projects.
During the meeting, Gadkari emphasised the timely completion of projects, strict adherence to quality standards, and the adoption of advanced technologies for the development of durable and efficient highway infrastructure. He stated that a robust highway network plays a crucial role in enhancing connectivity, accelerating economic activities, and improving commuter convenience.
The minister also directed officials to ensure necessary preparedness ahead of the monsoon season. He stressed that special attention should be given to advance planning, preventive measures, and rapid response systems to maintain road safety and ensure the long-term durability of highway assets.
