During the meeting, the Minister directed officials and contractors to ensure timely completion of projects, strict adherence to quality standards, and adoption of modern construction technologies and methodologies.
According to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, the meeting was attended by Union Ministers of State Ajay Tamta and Harsh Malhotra, along with senior officials of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), the Ministry, and project contractors.
In the meeting, Gadkari assessed the condition and maintenance of 10,064 km of the National Highway network in Rajasthan. He also reviewed the progress and upkeep of 1,947 km of National Highways in Himachal Pradesh. The Minister emphasised timely execution of projects, strict compliance with quality norms, and the adoption of advanced construction technologies.
He instructed officials to undertake comprehensive pre-monsoon preparations, including effective drainage management, slope protection, proactive maintenance, and rapid response mechanisms. These measures, he said, are essential to ensure uninterrupted traffic flow during the monsoon, enhance road safety, and maintain long-term durability of highways.
The Minister further stated that a sustainable and efficient highway network is crucial for improving connectivity, accelerating economic growth, enhancing passenger convenience, and ensuring seamless mobility across major corridors. He stressed that highway quality and maintenance are directly linked not only to commuter convenience but also to the nation’s economic development and growth trajectory.
Gadkari urged officials and contractors to utilise modern construction technologies, complete projects within stipulated timelines, and avoid any form of negligence.
