New Delhi, May 22 (H.S.): Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh expressed profound grief over the demise of Rukmini Akka, former Akhil Bharatiya Sah-Karyavahika of the Rashtra Sevika Samiti. The Sangh conveyed deep condolences to her family and all members of the Samiti, while praying for eternal peace for the departed soul.

In a joint statement issued on Friday, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and Sarkaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale mourned her passing and said that the demise of motherly figure Rukmini Akka had created an irreplaceable void in their emotional world.

They stated, “Although it is natural for the body to rest in old age, decades of acquaintance and deep personal bonds make the grief unbearable. Rukmini Akka’s life and personality, enriched by wisdom and experience, stood as a radiant example of a meaningful life dedicated to the nation.”

The statement further noted that she remained actively involved throughout her life in the noble mission of organising Hindu society and imparting values to women through the Rashtra Sevika Samiti. Her natural maternal warmth and tireless dedication deeply influenced everyone around her.

“With her demise, the Sevika sisters and countless others have lost a motherly guardian figure. She was also the last remaining link of that generation from the family of Suryanarayana Rao, regarded as a towering pillar of the Sangh’s ideals. Rukmini Akka now remains only in cherished memories,” the statement added.

The 98-year-old Rukmini Akka passed away on Thursday night at her residence in Bengaluru. She had been suffering from age-related health complications.
