New Delhi, 16 May (H.S.):

Thousands of students, led by National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) national president Vinod Jakhar, staged a protest on Saturday outside the National Testing Agency (NTA) office in Okhla over the NEET question paper leak case, demanding a ban and the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

Former Delhi University Students’ Union president Raunak Khatri was also present during the protest. During the demonstration, security personnel detained Vinod Jakhar along with several other protesters. The students said the paper leak had put the future of lakhs of hardworking candidates at stake.

The students demanded a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe under the supervision of the Supreme Court, free mental health services for students, free legal aid for affected students, and financial compensation and assistance.

Vinod Jakhar said, “Stop the paper leak, give justice to students, otherwise the fight against the injustice being done to the hard work of students, the dreams of parents and the country’s education system will continue.” He said they would not tolerate the future of 22 lakh NEET candidates being compromised.

He added, “We may be detained, but this fight for justice for students cannot be stopped.”
