Chandigarh, 16 May (H.S.): Senior Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia on Saturday made serious allegations against Punjab government officials, claiming a cover up of corruption related records and misuse of authority.
Addressing the media, Majithia alleged that Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora had summoned staff from the Industries, Power, and Local Government departments to report to office at 5 am on May 16. He claimed that following this, files linked to corruption were destroyed just a day before a purported CBI raid at the minister’s premises in Punjab.
Majithia demanded a thorough investigation into the matter and urged that all concerned staff members be questioned to uncover the truth behind the alleged cover-up.
He also leveled serious accusations against Punjab Chief Secretary KAP Sinha, alleging that Change of Land Use permissions were granted to benefit his family members and certain private developers, enabling them to acquire land at lower rates for development purposes.
In another allegation, Majithia claimed that the AAP government had hired a private agency worth 10.59 crore to remove negative comments from its social media platforms, including those of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.
