Bhubaneswar, 14 May (H.S.): The Odisha government will celebrate the completion of its two years in office in a simple and restrained manner, with greater emphasis on public outreach and dissemination of information about the government’s achievements rather than grand festivities.

The decision was taken during a preparatory meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi at Lok Seva Bhavan on Thursday.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister directed officials to organise the anniversary programmes in a modest manner considering the prevailing crisis situation arising out of developments in West Asia. He stressed that instead of large-scale celebrations, the focus should remain on highlighting the government’s achievements over the past two years and ensuring that the benefits of welfare schemes reach the people effectively.

The Chief Minister emphasised that the government’s accomplishments are meant for the welfare of the people and instructed officials to undertake programmes that would help communicate these successes to every section of society.

As part of the outreach initiative, the government will publicise its achievements through print, electronic and social media platforms. Informational booklets and publications highlighting the performance of various departments will also be released.

The meeting also discussed showcasing how people have benefited from various welfare schemes implemented by the government.

According to official information, the state government’s two-year anniversary celebrations will begin on June 12 and continue till June 21 at both the state and district levels.

The programmes will be organised around seven major themes reflecting the achievements of different departments — Shakti Odisha, Samruddha Krushi Odisha, Sustha Odisha, Nirmana Odisha, Utkarsha Odisha, Janashakti Odisha, and Kaushala Odisha.

In addition, the government’s long-term vision and roadmap for the period from 2026 to 2036 will also be presented during the programmes.

The Chief Minister further directed departmental ministers to hold press conferences highlighting the achievements of their respective departments over the last two years and publish leaflets and booklets detailing departmental progress.

He said these initiatives would help effectively communicate the government’s vision for the prosperity of the state and the welfare of its people.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Ministers Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo and Pravati Parida, Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari, Law and Works Minister Prithviraj Harichandan, Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Minister Rabi Narayan Naik, Chief Minister’s Advisor Prakash Mishra, the Chief
