

Xi Jinping Says US-China Relations Crucial for Global Stability
Beijing, May 14 (H.S.). US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping held long-awaited talks in Beijing on Thursday. The two leaders discussed not only bilateral issues of mutual interest but also several international and regional matters, including West Asia, the Ukraine crisis, and the Korean Peninsula. Trump stated that US-China relations will be better than before. Xi Jinping described the ties between the two countries as vital for global stability.
According to a report by China's official news agency Xinhua, during these talks lasting about two hours at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, Xi Jinping said the world is currently undergoing major changes, and US-China relations are extremely important for global stability. The two countries should be partners rather than rivals. It has been repeatedly proven that there is no winner in a trade war.
Xi Jinping said he wants to work with Trump to give a new direction to China-US relations so that 2026 becomes a historic milestone for ties between the two nations. He revealed that both leaders have agreed on a new concept for constructive China-US relations based on strategic stability. According to him, these relations should be founded on cooperation, balanced competition, management of differences, and commitment to peace.
President Donald Trump described his state visit to China as a matter of honor, calling Xi Jinping a great leader and China a great country.
Trump said he is ready to strengthen dialogue and cooperation with Xi Jinping, properly manage differences, and make bilateral relations better than before.
Trump stated that US-China relations will be better than before. He added that he has brought the world's largest business leaders with him to China.
During the talks, the Chinese President remarked on economic ties between the two countries, saying that China-US trade relations are based on mutual benefit and a win-win spirit. Dialogue on the basis of equality is the right way to resolve differences and disputes.
Xi Jinping disclosed that the latest trade talks held on Wednesday have yielded balanced and positive results through the economic and trade teams of both countries. He described it as good news for both nations and the entire world.
On the Taiwan issue, Xi Jinping said it is the most important and sensitive topic in China-US relations. He urged the US to handle this issue with utmost caution.
According to the Xinhua report, apart from international and regional issues, both sides agreed to support each other in successfully hosting the APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting and the G20 Summit to be held this year.
According to US media reports, China may sign a major deal to purchase aircraft worth nearly Rs 9 lakh crore from American company Boeing. If this deal materializes, it could rank among the world's largest aviation deals. The meeting will also discuss issues like trade, tariffs, semiconductors, artificial intelligence (AI), and Taiwan. Relations between the two countries have been tense in recent years, making this meeting highly significant.
Notably, US President Trump arrived in Beijing on Wednesday evening for a three-day visit. This trip is at the invitation of the Chinese President.
