Chandigarh, 13 May (H.S.): Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and
Punjab BJP president Sunil Jakhar have
reportedly received death threats through an email warning of bomb attacks.
Following the threat, security agencies have been placed on high alert and an
investigation has been launched to trace the sender.
According to sources, the email threatened to
blow up the Punjab Chief Minister’s Office and BJP offices in Punjab and Delhi.
The sender allegedly referred to both Bhagwant Mann and Sunil Jakhar as “Enemies
of Sikhs.”
The email reportedly claimed that an explosion
would take place at the Punjab CM Office at 1:11 PM, mentioning an attack “similar to Beant Singh.”
It also threatened bomb blasts at BJP offices in Punjab and Delhi at 9:11 PM.
The message further warned that Sunil Jakhar
would be targeted before June 6.
The email also made references to controversial historical remarks allegedly
linked to Jakhar’s father, former politician Balram
Jakhar.
After receiving the email, Punjab government
officials informed security agencies, which have intensified surveillance and
security arrangements at key government buildings and BJP offices. Bomb
disposal squads and intelligence agencies are also assessing the threat.
Officials have not yet confirmed the
credibility of the threat, but authorities are treating the matter seriously
and efforts are underway to identify the source of the email. Further
