Lucknow,

13 May (HS): vThe impact of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's appeal to the

countrymen to save petrol and diesel, use public transport as much as possible,

avoid unnecessary travel and participate in environmental protection is now

visible in the behavior of public representatives as well. In this sequence,

Kapil Dev Agarwal, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Vocational

Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Department of Uttar Pradesh

Government, travelled from New Delhi to Meerut by Metro and Namo Bharat Train

(Rapid Rail) and gave the message to the general public to conserve energy and

adopt public transport.

According

to the released itinerary, Minister Agarwal arrived at Indira Gandhi

International Airport, Terminal 3, New Delhi, in the evening. After leaving the

airport, he did not use a private vehicle and headed directly to Terminal 3

Metro Station and then via metro to Sarai Kale Khan Railway Station. From

there, he departed for Meerut by Namo Bharat Train and arrived at Modipuram

Station, Meerut. Minister Kapil Dev Agarwal said that Prime Minister Narendra

Modi's vision is not limited to fuel savings, but rather a comprehensive

campaign to protect the environment, save money, and preserve resources for

future generations. He said that if public representatives themselves use

public transportation, it will send a positive message to society and inspire

people to do the same.

He

said that adopting public transport will not only reduce petrol and diesel

consumption but will also help control pollution by reducing the pressure of

vehicles on the roads. He appealed to youth, workers, students and the general

public to make greater use of facilities like metro, bus and rapid rail for

short and frequent trips.
