Mirzapur,

13 May (HS): Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare and

Chemicals and Fertilizers Anupriya Patel has called for the Indian government's

immediate intervention in the search for Manish Dwivedi, a young man from

Mirzapur who has gone missing in the United States. She issued a letter requesting

the Indian Embassy in the United States to provide all possible assistance in

this matter.

Santosh

Dwivedi, a resident of Chauhanpatti in the Chhathan area of Mirzapur

district, sent a letter to the Union Minister informing her about the

disappearance of his son, Manish Dwivedi. Manish Dwivedi worked as a second officer

with the Western Shipping Company and was stationed on the Singapore-flagged

ship Sifnos Lady. His passport number was listed as S1342617 and

his CDC number was listed as MUM 356223. It was reported that the ship

Sifnos Lady arrived at Marcus Hook Port in Philadelphia, USA, on

the evening of May 6th. During this time, Manish Dwivedi and three companions

went to the Concord Mall/Best Buying area on Shore Leave. He has not been heard

from since, nor has he contacted his family or coworkers.

According

to the family, despite continuous searches and efforts at the local level, no

information has been found about Manish Dwivedi. The family is deeply shocked

and worried by the sudden disappearance of their son. In her letter, Union

Minister Anupriya Patel urged the Indian government to direct the Indian

Embassy in the United States, in coordination with local authorities, to ensure

the prompt search for Manish Dwivedi and to ascertain his safety and

well-being. She stated that prompt intervention in the matter would provide

significant relief and reassurance to the victim's family.
