Bhubaneswar, 13 May (H.S.): After a gap of 22 years, the National Executive Meeting of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad will be held in Bhubaneswar, the temple city and sacred land of Lord Jagannath. The four-day meeting is scheduled to take place from May 28 to May 31 at the campus of Siksha 'O' Anusandhan in Bhubaneswar.

More than 700 student leaders, academicians and representatives from 47 organisational regions across the country, along with delegates from neighbouring nations Nepal and Bhutan, are expected to participate in the event. The delegates will deliberate on various issues related to education and society.

The information was shared during a press conference attended by ABVP State Secretary Diptimeyee Pratihari, National Executive Member Biswajit Patra and Bhubaneswar Mahanagar Secretary Rajkumar, among others.

Organisers said one of the major highlights of the programme will be a grand civic felicitation ceremony to be held on May 28 at the university auditorium. Around 1,500 former ABVP activists, well-wishers and eminent personalities from different walks of life are expected to attend the event.

The organisation informed that extensive preparations are underway by local volunteers and residents of Bhubaneswar to welcome delegates arriving from across India.

During the meeting, detailed discussions will be held on the current state of education in the country and prevailing social issues. Several important resolutions are also expected to be adopted. Based on these resolutions, the organisation plans to conduct various movements and constructive programmes across the country over the coming year focusing on educational reforms and social development.

The session will also aim to formulate a roadmap for encouraging greater participation of students in the nation-building process.

From a cultural perspective, the meeting will feature a special exhibition showcasing Odisha’s rich culture and traditions. Through the exhibition, delegates from different parts of the country will get an opportunity to learn about Odisha’s glorious heritage and experience the spirit of “Mini India.”

Organisers expressed confidence that the National Executive Meeting would serve as a significant milestone in promoting educational reforms and strengthening social responsibility among students.
