Lucknow,

13 May (HS): A review meeting of Chandrashekhar Azad University of Agriculture

and Technology (CSA) , Kanpur, was held on Wednesday in the Gandhi Auditorium

of Jan Bhavan, chaired by Anandiben Patel, Governor of Uttar Pradesh and

Chancellor of State Universities. The meeting comprehensively reviewed the

university's academic, administrative, financial, research, student welfare,

and agricultural extension activities.

The

Governor directed the university administration to develop an effective SOP for

the overall development of the university and ensure timely and systematic

implementation of development works. Each project should have a clear action

plan and be regularly monitored.

Expressing

serious concern over pending pension and GPF issues, dilapidated buildings,

unfinished construction projects, and other administrative and financial

problems at the university, the Governor directed a separate high-level meeting

to be held on these issues. She said that officials from the relevant

departments and ministers should be present at the meeting and that all

university-related problems should be seriously discussed and resolved. She

directed that concrete action be taken to expedite the completion of all

pending projects.

The

Governor said that the benefits of agricultural equipment and technologies

developed by the Agricultural University should reach farmers on a large scale.

To this end, she directed the University to enter into Memorandum of

Understandings with major companies to ensure large-scale production of

agricultural equipment, so that farmers and women can benefit widely.

Citing

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's messages regarding reducing fuel consumption in

the national interest, avoiding unnecessary foreign travel, promoting work from

home, developing the habit of cycling and walking, judicious use of energy and

resources, reducing dependence on imported goods, and encouraging savings and

self-reliance by avoiding unnecessary gold purchases, the Governor directed the

University to actively participate in this national campaign. She said that the

University should launch public awareness campaigns among students, faculty,

and staff, encouraging them to adopt a healthy, disciplined, and nationally

beneficial lifestyle. This will yield extremely positive results in the future.

If people adopt the habit of cycling or walking, it will improve their health

and significantly contribute to the national interest.

She

directed the installation of a BMI machine at the university, so that the

health of students, faculty, and staff could be regularly monitored. She said

that the university should discuss the Prime Minister's messages on reducing

oil consumption, reducing childhood obesity, and adopting a healthy lifestyle

and concrete action should be taken in this direction.

She

directed the promotion of nutritious dishes made from millets and their

large-scale production and processing. She stated that this would provide

nutritious food to the public and also generate income for the university. The

Governor urged the university to prepare students for future challenges and

connect them with skills, research, innovation, and employment-oriented

education.

She

specifically urged that special attention be paid to girls studying at the

university with sensitivity. Through psychological perspectives and practical

understanding, students should be guided and provided with the right direction.

Sharing her student experiences, the Governor explained that while studying in

Gujarat, she had helped a girl secure justice. She directed that the university

maintain constant monitoring of such cases, and that teachers, principals,

parents, and society should work together to guide and support girls.

She

said that everyone associated with the university should have the feeling that

the university is mine and everyone should work collectively for

its development. She directed that a location be identified on the university

campus where vegetables for student consumption should be grown, and that

students should also participate in this work.

The

Governor directed that all necessary facilities be provided in hostel kitchens,

nutritious and healthy food be ensured, and regular health checkups be

conducted for all students, especially girls. She said that special attention

should be paid to both the physical and mental health of students, and that

discussions should be held with them about their future pursuits and life

goals. She directed that low-quality spices or unhealthy ingredients should not

be used in food. Teachers should personally check the quality of food before

serving it to students.
