Compromising
the Future of Lakhs of Aspirants is Deeply Unfortunate: ABVP
Lucknow,
13 May (HS): Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) Delhi organized a
massive protest outside the National Testing Agency (NTA) headquarters against
the NEET-UG paper leak, persistent irregularities in the examination process,
and the grave threat to students' futures. During the demonstration, Delhi
Police used force against ABVP activists and students, subsequently taking them
into custody.
ABVP
maintains a clear stance that repeated lapses in national-level examinations
are a direct assault on the hard work, trust, and future of millions of
aspirants across the country. The paper leak in a crucial exam like NEET-UG is
not merely an administrative failure but a serious question mark on the
credibility of the entire examination system. Injustice against students who
appear for exams after years of rigorous preparation and tireless effort is
unacceptable under any circumstances.
The
ABVP demands that the investigation into the NEET-UG paper leak be conducted in
an impartial, transparent, and time-bound manner. Furthermore, the findings
must be made public to expose and dismantle the entire nexus, thereby restoring
the confidence of students nationwide. ABVP emphasized that the conduct of
national-level examinations cannot be left to temporary and outsourced arrangements.
Entrusting sensitive responsibilities-such as printing, exam center management,
and staffing-to private agencies creates a severe security risk and increases
the likelihood of such incidents recurring.
ABVP
National General Secretary Dr. Virendra Singh Solanki stated,Detaining
ABVP activists protesting outside the NTA office is extremely unfortunate. The
National Testing Agency has failed in conducting several major examinations
over the past years. This NEET-UG paper leak is not an isolated incident, which
clearly indicates that the NTA is not fully capable of conducting exams and
that an organized syndicate is active behind these lapses. ABVP has
consistently demanded that examinations be made completely transparent and
secure. The Central Government must implement comprehensive structural reforms
in the examination system and end the dependency on private agencies to ensure
that students' futures are never compromised again. Today, ABVP activists are
agitating for the welfare of students in Delhi and at major centers across the
country.
Sarthak
Sharma, ABVP Delhi State Secretary, added: “Instead of ensuring accountability
on such a serious issue concerning the future of students, the attempt to
suppress our voices is deeply regrettable. Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad
has always stood for student interests. Until justice is served to the 22 lakh
candidates affected by the NEET-UG paper leak, the ABVP will continue to fight
for their rights.
