Guwahati, 12 May (HS): Leaders of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) on Tuesday congratulated Chief Minister-designate Himanta Biswa Sarma and the alliance on its resounding victory in the Assam Assembly elections, describing the mandate as a strong endorsement of development-oriented governance ahead of the swearing-in ceremony of the new government.

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said the people of Assam had overwhelmingly backed the politics of development and progress. In a self-recorded video message, Shinde thanked the voters of the state and congratulated Sarma and the NDA leadership on securing another term in office.

He expressed confidence that the government would further accelerate Assam’s development under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the “double-engine government” model.

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha also hailed the NDA’s success, saying the BJP’s consecutive electoral victories across the country reflected growing public confidence in the leadership of the Prime Minister. He said the atmosphere in the country was filled with positivity and celebration following the alliance’s continued electoral success.

Asom Gana Parishad president Atul Bora said the massive mandate received by the NDA was a reflection of the trust people had placed in the alliance. The Bokakhat MLA-elect stated that the coming five years would be crucial for Assam and claimed that the state was heading towards a “golden era.”

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav also congratulated the people of Assam and termed the NDA’s third successive victory in the state a remarkable achievement.

Meanwhile, BJP leader and Duliajan MLA-elect Rameswar Teli described the swearing-in ceremony as a historic moment in his political journey and thanked both the party leadership and the electorate for their support.

The oath-taking ceremony of the new Assam government is being held in Guwahati on May 12 in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, senior Union ministers, and chief ministers and deputy chief ministers from NDA-ruled states.-----------
