Bhubaneswar, 12 May (H.S.): Floral tributes were paid to renowned saint poet Bhima Bhoi on the occasion of his birth anniversary on Monday. Odisha Legislative Assembly Speaker Surama Padhy offered श्रद्धांजलि at the statue of the revered poet located near the Odisha Assembly premises and recalled his invaluable contribution to society and literature.

Speaking on the occasion, the Speaker said Santakabi Bhima Bhoi remains an enduring inspiration for the Odia community. She highlighted the saint poet’s timeless philosophy of compassion and human welfare, referring to his celebrated lines that reflect his willingness to endure personal suffering for the salvation of humanity.

Paying deep respects to the saint poet, she said Bhima Bhoi’s ideals and teachings continue to inspire millions of people across generations.

On the occasion, Odisha Minister for Odia Language, Literature and Culture Suryabanshi Suraj, Odisha Legislative Assembly Secretary Satyabrata Raut, Deputy Director of the Department of Odia Language, Literature and Culture Debayani Bhuyan and several other dignitaries were present and paid tribute to Santakabi Bhima Bhoi.
