Prayagraj, 12 May

(HS): Under the guidance of NP Singh, General Manager/North Central Railway,

and the leadership of Satendra Kumar (PCSTE/NCR), AK Rai

(CSTE/Project/Co/PRYJ), and Bholendra Singh (CSTE/P-II/PRYJ), a significant

infrastructure milestone was achieved on Tuesday. Two sections of Automatic

Block Signaling (ABS)—Shankargarh–Majhiari and Majhiari–Bargarh—covering a

total of 16.2 km on the Naini–Manikpur route, were successfully commissioned.

The technical work

was executed during a planned traffic block, and train services were promptly

restored upon completion. This upgrade introduces modern automatic signaling,

which allows for the safe movement of multiple trains in the same direction

with precise spacing. This technological advancement significantly boosts the

overall throughput of the rail corridor.

Key Benefits of

Automatic Block Signalling:

Higher Line

Capacity: Enables the section to handle a larger volume of trains.

Shorter Headway:

Allows trains to run closer together safely, reducing waiting times.

Improved

Punctuality: Facilitates smoother traffic regulation and better adherence to

schedules.

Enhanced Safety:

Features automatic train separation, reducing the risk of human error.

Peak-Hour

Efficiency: Provides the agility needed to handle heavy traffic during peak

periods.

Reduced Detention:

Minimizes the time trains spend waiting for track clearance.

The successful

commissioning reflects Indian Railways' steadfast commitment to modernizing

signaling infrastructure to meet the increasing traffic demands of the busy

Naini–Manikpur corridor. This achievement was made possible through the

seamless coordination of the Signal, Operating, Engineering, and Electrical

departments.
