(HS): Founder of Pani Foundation and renowned actor Amir Khan, actors Nana
Patelkar and Makrant Anaspure of Nam
Foundation will be the speakers during the ‘Jalkranti Parishad’ at Kavivarya
Suresh Bhat Hall, Reshimbag, Nagpur on May 18. The seminar is a part of the
two-day conference by the ‘Poorti Sinchan Samruddhi Kalyankari Sanstha, which
is celebrating its silver jubilee year. The organisation has been formed with
the initiative of Unin Minister Nitin Gadkari. The conference will be held on
May 17 and 18. Experts in the field of water conservation will participate.
The ‘Tamaswada
Model’ developed by the organisation has proved to be an example and being followed
across the nation.
On May 17 ‘Nagpur
Jalsamvad 2026’ will be held at Dr Vasantrao Deshpande Hall. Padmabhushan Dr
Anil Prakash Joshi, Padmashri Umashankar Pande and Padmashri Sethpal Singh will
speak on ‘Farmers’ suicide-free Vidarbha’. Discussion on sustainable measures
to end water scarcity and water conservation for the future will be held. The
work of the host organisation during the last 25 years will be reviewed.
On May 18 Amir
Khan, Nana Patekar and Makrand Anaspure will discuss about participation of
social organisation in water conservation and management of water resources.
Gadkari will be in the chair. Minister for Water Reources Sanjay Rathod,
vice-Chancellors of various universities will remain present. Four books ‘Jalparva’,
‘Jalkranti’, ‘Krushikalyan’, and Corridors of Water Security’ will be released
on the occasion
The conference
will be held at Dr Deshpande Hall on May 17 at 4 om and on May 18 at Suresh
Bhat Hall at 10 am.
