Lucknow, 11 May

(HS): With the aim of making the

youth of the state self-reliant by making them skilled as per the demands of

modern industries and establishing Uttar Pradesh as the country's leading

'skill hub', an important 'Samvad Program' is being organized in Gorakhpur on

Tuesday. Organized under the aegis of Uttar Pradesh Skill

Development Mission, private ITI operators of Gorakhpur, Basti and Ayodhya

divisions, training providers, representatives of the industry and departmental

officers will participate in this program.

The

program, to be held at the Ramada Hotel, Gorakhpur, located on Gorakhnath Road,

will be chaired by Kapil Dev Agarwal, Minister of State (Independent Charge),

Department of Vocational Education, Skill Development, and Entrepreneurship.

The department's Principal Secretary, Dr. Hariom, Mission Director, Pulkit

Khare, and senior department officials will also be present.

The

dialogue program will focus on two key schemes of the Uttar Pradesh Skill

Development Mission: Project Praveen and SSDF (State Skill

Development Fund). Under the SSDF scheme, a target has been set to

provide skills training to over four lakh youth in the state. Under

Project Praveen, skill-based education has been provided to over

2.5 lakh students from over 1,700 schools in the state since 2022.

It

will also be shared at the event that 'AI for All' has recently been made

compulsory for classes 9 through 12, so that students can be prepared for

future needs by connecting them with artificial intelligence and new technologies.

Additionally, 'Project Praveen' has been launched in 18 Atal Residential

Schools across the state, where approximately 3,500 talented students will be

trained in modern courses such as IT, electronics, and healthcare.

The

program's primary objective is to improve the quality of skills training and

align it with current industry needs. During the dialogue program, detailed

discussions will be held with principals, managers, and training providers from

government and private ITI institutions in all 12 districts within the Ayodhya,

Basti, and Gorakhpur divisions. Important topics will be discussed, including

training quality, institutional infrastructure, technical resources,

job-oriented training, and improved youth employment.

The program will also honor trainees and

trainers who have brought honor to the state by their outstanding performance

at the state and national level. The Minister will present them with

certificates of appreciation. The program will begin at 11 a.m. with the lighting

of a lamp and Saraswati Vandana. This will be followed by a screening of a

departmental film highlighting the Mission's achievements. At 1 p.m., Principal

Secretary Dr. Hariom will share his views on departmental schemes and the

roadmap for skill development. At 1:20 p.m., Minister Kapil Dev

Agarwal will address youth skill development, employment generation, and the

vision of a self-reliant Uttar Pradesh. This dialogue program of the Uttar

Pradesh Skill Development Mission is considered an important initiative towards

establishing better coordination between industries and training institutes.

The department's objective is to equip every youth in the state with modern

skills, enabling them to gain better employment and self-employment opportunities

and contribute to the revival of Uttar Pradesh's economy.
