Lucknow, 11 May
(HS): A shocking incident came to light on Monday in Lucknow, the capital of
Uttar Pradesh. A Muslim youth, by changing his name and religion, lured Hindu
girls through social media. He threatened to make their obscene videos and
photos viral and pressured them to convert. The Sairapur police station
registered a case and arrested the accused.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, North,
Twinkle Jain, stated that the accused, Shoaib Akhtar, a resident of Wazirganj,
Gonda, runs a salon (barber shop) on Raitha Road in Lucknow's Chhathamil
Market. He lives in a rented house in the Sahabhagi Shikshan Sansthan. He created
a fake account on the social media platform Instagram using the name
Saurabh Singh. He first befriended Hindu girls and then, after
trapping them in his love trap, took obscene photos and videos of them. Using
these photos and videos, he blackmailed them into converting to Islam and other
things. A girl exposed his actions and filed a case against him at the Sairapur
police station on May 10. The girl alleged that Shoaib befriended her by
changing his name to Saurabh Singh and threatening to make some of her private
photos viral.
The Additional
Deputy Commissioner of Police stated that based on the victim's complaint, the
police have registered a case and arrested the accused. Evidence is being
