
Deceased include two siblings
Amravati, 11 May (HS): Three children and an adult
drowned in a tank a Ghatkheda in Amravati on Sunday. The four had gone for swimming
on Sunday evening and drowned as one of them was drowning and three jumped to
rescue without understanding the depth of water.
The four including two siblings have been named by
Amravati’s Frezarpura Police as Sonali Narendra Joshi (16), Aditya Narendra
Joshi 912), Payal Bablu Pandit (21) and Yash Gajanan Kakde (13), all residents
of Kholapuri Gate area.
The District Disaster Management team rushed to the
site and started the rescue operations. The four bodies were fished out. After
the ‘Panchnama’ (spot inspection) the bodies were referred to the District Hospital
for the post-mortem.
Narendra Joshi himself had dropped 11 children
including Aditya and Sonali to the site. Narendra was asked to go with an
assurance to call him back after the picnic.
The Joshi family and families of others were
devastated on getting the news.
