Guwahati, 11 May (HS): BJP leader Harish Dwivedi on Monday asserted that Assam witnessed unprecedented development after 2016 under the BJP-led government, stating that no administration since Independence had contributed as much to the State’s progress.
Addressing mediapersons in Guwahati ahead of Chief Minister-elect Himanta Biswa Sarma’s swearing-in ceremony, Dwivedi said the BJP government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Sarma had brought major changes across several sectors, including infrastructure, healthcare, education, women’s welfare and youth employment.
He said the massive mandate secured by the BJP-led NDA in the Assam Assembly elections reflected the trust reposed by the people in the leadership of Modi and Sarma. According to Dwivedi, the new government would continue working to fulfil public expectations and accelerate the State’s development over the next five years.
Dwivedi further informed that several senior BJP leaders, Union ministers and chief ministers from various States are likely to attend the swearing-in ceremony scheduled to take place at Khanapara in Guwahati on Tuesday morning.
The BJP-led NDA has retained power in Assam for a third consecutive term after registering a decisive victory in the recently concluded Assembly elections.-----------
