(HS): Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel on Sunday flagged off the
Cancer Free Women Bharat Yatra - Anandi Maa Ek Jeevan Bachao
Abhiyan organised by Stree Welfare Foundation from Jan Bhawan on the
occasion of Mother's Day. The rally started from Jan Bhawan Portico and passed
through Mahatma Gandhi Marg, Atal Chowk, Park Road, Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Marg,
Civil Square and Bhanumati Road and concluded at Sarojini Naidu Marg Square.
Through the rally, a message was given to make the society aware about women's
health, cancer awareness and the resolution for a healthy India.
On this occasion, the Governor commended the
campaign and met with the organization's delegation. She stated that women's
health is the foundation of not only the family but the entire society. Timely
screening and awareness can prevent serious diseases like cancer. More than 130
people participated in the rally, spreading the message of Healthy Mother
- Safe Future. Women, youth, and social workers enthusiastically
participated in the program and pledged to spread awareness about cancer.
Encouraging the organization to work on a larger scale in the future, the Governor
said that such campaigns create a new awareness and a medium for positive
change in society. During the program, those present pledged, May every
mother be safe, every sister be aware, and every daughter be healthy and
empowered.
This campaign is not
just a rally, but an important initiative towards strengthening health,
awareness, and human sensibilities in society. Present at the rally's launch
were Dr. Sudhir Mahadev Bobde, Special Officer to the Governor (Additional
Chief Secretary level), and others.
