Bhubaneswar, 10 May (H.S.): Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida has accused BJD Rajya Sabha MP Sulata Deo of circulating a video from Shivpuri, Madhya Pradesh, claiming it to be from Odisha.
In a statement shared on social media, Pravati Parida said that there is an attempt to defame Odisha at the national level merely to remain in the spotlight. She added that while criticism of the government is a part of democracy, using fake or misleading videos to insult the state is condemnable.
The Deputy Chief Minister further stated that the people of Odisha have ended what she described as a “25-year misrule” and have chosen the governance model of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
She also remarked that some individuals may not be able to accept that a leader from a poor tribal background has become the Chief Minister of the state.
Warning against such actions, Pravati Parida said that any attempt to malign Odisha for political gains would have consequences.
