
Guwahati, 10 May (HS): Assam Chief Minister-designate Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday expressed heartfelt gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Bharatiya Janata Party leadership for once again entrusting him with the responsibility of serving the people of Assam as “Mukhya Sewak”.
In a statement issued after being elected leader of the BJP-led NDA Legislature Party, Sarma thanked BJP national president Nitin Nabin and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for their continued guidance and support. He also expressed gratitude to the newly-elected MLAs of the BJP, Asom Gana Parishad and Bodoland People's Front for electing him as the leader of the NDA Legislature Party.
Sarma said the NDA government remains firmly committed to carrying forward the journey of development, good governance and peace that began in Assam in 2016 under the leadership and guidance of Prime Minister Modi and senior BJP leaders.
Highlighting his commitment to the people of the state, the Assam leader stated that Team NDA would continue working round-the-clock in the service of “Aai Asomi” and strive towards realizing the full potential of Assam. He further said that with the blessings of Maa Kamakhya, the love of the people and the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, the journey towards building a peaceful, secure and developed Assam would become even stronger in the coming years.-----------
